Q: I don't know how to cook. Can I take one of your classes?
A: Absolutely. In fact we love to have the inexperienced or novice cook who wants to get started in the kitchen but doesn't know where to begin.
Q: Do I need any equipment?
A: Nothing but your appetite. Whether you are taking a private home class or are part of a group class, we bring everything with us and even do the dishes. At all our classes you will receive a full meal, beverage and recipes. For our teen classes as well as all hands on classes please make sure the student wears closed toe shoes and has long hair pulled back.
Q: My kitchen is very small. Can I still have a private class in my home?
A: No kitchen is too small. Nadine has worked her magic in all sizes and shapes of kitchens. Usually Nadine will set up a short meeting at your home to view your kitchen for planning purposes a few days before your class.
Q: I have special dietary needs? Can The Cook's Companion accommodate me?
A: Of course. Whether Nadine has drafted the menu personally with you or you are part of a group class, Nadine has asked the host for any food allergies or sensitivities she needs to be made aware of. We do not use peanut products or peanut oil in our classes; however due to some unknown manufacturer's ingredients we cannot provide or guarantee a nut free environment.
Q: Are the classes just for women?
A: Not at all. Men and women are welcome to attend any of our classes. We also specialize in hands on Teen Cuisine classes.
Q: Can I purchase a gift certificate for someone?
A: Yes, what a great gift! Just call us at 905-849-9007 or email thecookscompanion@sympatico.ca to arrange one that is perfect for that special person.
Q: How many people do I need to have a private class?
A: Our minimum class size is 3 people however Nadine will conduct smaller classes (one on one or for a couple) for a small additional fee. Contact her directly to learn more 905-849-9007.
Q: I need to purchase more than one gift basket and want them shipped to different people. How do I do this?
A: Place your multiple gift basket order as normal. We will send you an email form to confirm the different ship to addresses associated with each gift basket.
